Conifer Energy chose SUBLATUS to complete the comprehensive decommissioning and demolition of their gas plant facility in Redwater, Alberta. This project included asbestos abatement, removal of processing equipment, buildings, tanks, flare stacks, and catalyst waste disposal. The Challenge
Performing demolition activities on an active site posed many unique risks, including managing ongoing plant operations and heavy truck traffic through an active demolition zone. In addition to these challenges, our crew had to work in unpredictable and often severe winter weather conditions.
Our Approach
To minimize disruption to site operations, we carefully coordinated all project sequencing. While specialized subcontractors handled asbestos abatement, our experienced team performed demolition tasks, maintained strict safety measures, and adjusted daily operations based on ever-changing winter weather conditions.
The Results
Despite challenging winter conditions and ongoing facility operations, we completed the project safely, on schedule, and within budget. All metal by-products were successfully recycled, and the site was meticulously cleared and prepared for future use, meeting all client expectations and leaving no trace.
